A few digital media tips just for you
Although it would sell like hot cakes, there is no official rulebook for social media do’s and don’ts. We’re all doing our best to stay above the ever changing waters of social media trends, and let’s face it, some people are drowning. We want to give you a few simple tips to staying with, and even ahead of, the trends that social media is setting. But before you can get ahead of the game, you’ll need to understand some simple rules for social media use. Here are a few tips.
Have A Consistent Posting Schedule: The more people see your name and your content, the more they will want to engage with you. Because of this, you’re going to want to be consistent with your posting. If there are long gaps between posting dates, people will disengage, unfollow, and generally forget your name. Using platforms such as Buffer, Hopper, Or Hootsuite can help you immensely.
Have A Strategy: We’re strategy people, meaning we never want to try things blindly hoping it simply works. Social media leaves a lot of room for creativity, risk, and experimentation. But add strategy to that creativity, and you’ll be unstoppable. Plan your social media posts with intention by asking yourself these questions beforehand -
- What Is my end goal?
- What am I selling?
- Where do I want people to go from here?
- How do I want people to feel when they look at my social media accounts?
After you’ve answered these questions you should have a better sense of what type of imagery and voice you want to emulate to best represent your company.
Create Original Content: People want to know who you are! But they won’t know that if you use solely stock images and re-post other people’s content. So gather original images and your original thoughts, and use those as the foundation of your posts.
Multiple Posting Personalities: You can help people to recognize you in more way than one. They can learn to recognize your name, your logo, your products, your team. But on social media, you want people to recognize who you are before they see your name. Meaning, you’ll want to ensure that the voicing and imagery on all of your accounts are similar. If you have multiple people posting on your social media accounts, create a voice brand guide so that everyone can be on the same page. Your voice is an expression of who the people behind the brand are.
After implementing these few tips, you’ll have a better chance of being a leader and innovator in the social media movement. Our goal is for your success to grow as you learn alongside us.
